What information Clipsy handles when you sign in, process media, and pay for a plan.
Effective September 9, 2026
1. Information we collect
Account information
When you sign in, we receive identifiers such as your name, email address, profile image, and identity-provider account identifier. We keep account, plan, credit-balance, and sign-in-session records.
Content and processing data
We process the video, audio, logos, links, project settings, transcripts, word-level timestamps, suggested moments, captions, and rendered clips you provide or create. Transcripts and model inputs may contain personal information present in your recording.
Billing information
We receive payment status, Stripe customer and transaction identifiers, subscription status, plan, invoices, and limited billing details. Stripe collects and stores full payment-card information; Clipsy does not receive your full card number.
Technical and usage information
We may collect IP address, browser and device information, request timing, error and security events, feature interactions, processing stage, job duration, and similar operational data. We use an essential session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not currently use advertising cookies.
2. How we use information
- Provide, operate, and personalize media processing and account features.
- Authenticate users, process payments, maintain credit balances, and prevent fraud.
- Store projects, generate transcripts and clips, troubleshoot failures, and provide support.
- Secure, monitor, analyze, and improve the reliability and quality of the Service.
- Comply with law, enforce our policies, and protect users, Clipsy, and others.
- Send transactional messages about accounts, billing, security, and material service changes.
Where applicable, our legal bases include performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, consent where requested, and compliance with legal obligations.
3. AI and automated processing
Clipsy sends media-derived audio, timestamped transcript windows, and necessary instructions to Microsoft Azure speech and AI services to transcribe recordings and suggest moments. Other non-AI components may analyze audio energy, scene changes, and faces to frame and edit clips. Automated suggestions do not make legal or similarly significant decisions about you. You should review outputs before use.
4. How we share information
We share information only as needed with:
- Microsoft Azure for application hosting, private storage, databases, speech transcription, AI processing, queues, and operational monitoring.
- Stripe for Checkout, subscription billing, invoices, fraud prevention, and the customer billing portal.
- Google for account authentication when you choose Google sign-in.
- YouTube and related tools when you ask Clipsy to import content from a YouTube link.
- Professional advisers, authorities, or transaction partners when reasonably necessary for legal compliance, safety, enforcement, financing, merger, acquisition, or sale.
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. Retention and deletion
Account and billing records are kept while your account is active and as reasonably needed for contracts, tax, accounting, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and legal compliance. Project media, transcripts, and generated clips are kept to make them available in your workspace until you delete the project or request account deletion, subject to processing caches, backups, and legal holds. Abandoned uploads and temporary processing files may be removed automatically.
You can permanently delete individual projects in Clipsy. To request deletion of the account and associated active project data, use Help & billing. Some limited records may be retained when legally required or necessary to demonstrate payment and policy compliance.
6. Security and international processing
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, including private cloud storage, scoped access, and secure hosted payment pages. No system is completely secure. Clipsy and its providers may process information in the United States and other countries; where required, appropriate transfer safeguards apply.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal information, and to appeal or complain to a data-protection authority. You may manage payment methods and cancel a subscription through the billing portal. You may also sign out, delete projects, or request account deletion. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
8. Children
Clipsy is not directed to children under 13, and users must meet the eligibility requirements in our Terms. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information improperly.
9. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the Service changes. We will post the revised policy and effective date and provide additional notice when appropriate. Privacy questions and rights requests can be sent to Pebble Work Labs, Inc. through support or at hello@pebbleworklabs.com.
